A tape-style delay that recreates the warmth, motion and gentle degradation of real tape echo — with a deep modulation engine and creative controls that go well beyond a vintage emulation.
The short version.
K7D isn’t a static digital delay with a “tape” preset — it models the physical behaviours that make tape echo musical, and rebuilds them as discrete, controllable stages.
Interpolated pitch glide, in-loop saturation, feedback-path filtering, wow & flutter and analog-style hiss — each one a real stage in the signal path, not a faked artefact.
01 · What it is
Tape soul, modern control.
Real tape warmth, wow & flutter and self-degrading repeats — but with smooth musical filters, tempo sync and a full modulation engine layered on top.
02 · What it does
Slap-back to self-oscillation.
1 ms to a full second of delay, feedback from 0 all the way to 200%, drive on the input and saturation inside the loop — controlled echoes or infinite swelling drones.
03 · Why it’s different
A delay you can play.
Keyboard-follow makes the delay track incoming MIDI pitch, turning echoes into tuned, playable resonator and comb textures from your keyboard.

Reels that glide, not steps that click
The delay line reads with 4-point cubic interpolation off a fractional read head, so moving the Time knob bends pitch like spooling tape — never the zipper-click of a stepped digital delay.

Every echo, a new generation
A saturator sits inside the feedback loop, so each repeat is re-saturated. Echoes compress and thicken the longer they sustain — warmer and more worn than the last.

Echoes that dissolve
A low-pass and a high-pass filter live in the feedback path. The tail loses highs and lows with every pass — gentle 6 dB/oct curves that narrow the bandwidth instead of piling up.

Two independent pitch LFOs model speed instability — a slow Wow and a fast Flutter. From a gentle sway to a seasick warble.
